At Tower, we take immense pride in fostering a culture of employee volunteering, where our team members leverage their unique skills to make a tangible impact in the communities where we operate.
Building on this commitment, our team in India recently partnered with Dakshana Foundation to support a new cohort of aspiring engineers. This group of 250 high-potential students, coming from underprivileged and economically weaker backgrounds, is currently pursuing their collective dream at the JNV Bangalore Center of Excellence (CoE) and Dakshana Valley in Pune.
Our volunteer mentors included Tower employees with engineering backgrounds who understand the unique challenges of preparing for the JEE and other competitive entrance exams. During the sessions, our volunteers moved beyond theoretical advice, sharing specific tips for mastering the complex syllabus. One of our employees shared their personal journey of passing the exams, detailing the hurdles they faced and the resilience required to succeed. Their story served as a powerful reminder to the students that their current circumstances do not define their future potential.
Our mentors emphasized two critical pillars:
- Academic Discipline: The team highlighted that consistent practice and mock tests are non-negotiable. They provided strategies on time management and pointers on how to use mock test results to identify and bridge knowledge gaps.
- Peer Support: Recognizing the immense pressure of the exams, our volunteers highlighted that seeking guidance — for both academic queries and emotional support — is a sign of strength, not weakness. Maintaining mental well-being is as vital as mastering physics or mathematics.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Dakshana Foundation for their partnership and to our colleagues for their unwavering spirit of service. Together, we are turning aspirations into reality and paving the way for the next generation of innovators.
