Tower recently hosted an internal AI Hackathon at its New York office, bringing together employees from across the firm to explore how artificial intelligence can be applied to everyday workflows and business challenges.
Fifteen teams participated in the event, developing practical ideas focused on increasing efficiency across Tower. The challenge was simple: identify a real-world pain point and explore how AI could help solve it, whether by streamlining a manual process, improving an existing workflow, or finding a new approach to a familiar problem.
Over the course of the event, teams moved quickly from identifying a problem to building and presenting their solutions. Participants had to narrow the scope of their ideas, determine where AI could add meaningful value, and translate those concepts into something they could demonstrate to their colleagues. The fast-paced format encouraged teams to think creatively, make decisions quickly, and learn from one another along the way.
Just as importantly, the Hackathon created an opportunity for employees who might not typically work together to approach a shared challenge from different perspectives. That collaborative, hands-on approach reflects Tower’s broader culture of experimentation and problem-solving. By setting aside dedicated time to test new ideas, employees explored how AI could meaningfully improve the way teams work, while learning from colleagues across the firm.
