Last month, Tower was proud to sponsor and attend McGill University’s annual CodeJam hackathon, held November 14–16 in the McGill’s Trottier Engineering Building. Organized by the McGill Electrical, Computer, and Software Student Society, CodeJam brings together developers from across campus for a focused weekend of building, experimentation, and collaboration.
As a Gigabyte Sponsor for this year’s event, Tower joined a strong group of supporters helping make the 15th edition of CodeJam possible. The hackathon is designed to give students an engaging space to develop and showcase their technical skills, and to connect directly with companies looking for future engineering talent. We were excited to contribute to that mission.
Throughout the weekend, members of our team met with participants to hear about their projects, discuss their approaches, and share insights into the types of engineering challenges Tower solves every day. Students tackled a wide range of problem sets, and it was inspiring to see how quickly teams moved from concept to prototype under tight hackathon timelines. The energy of the event – from the packed workspace to the round-the-clock coding – underscored why CodeJam has become a highlight of McGill’s tech calendar.
We appreciated every conversation, question, and demo. Our AMA blog offers a useful snapshot of some of the most frequently asked questions we hear at events like these.
We’re grateful to the organizers for putting together such a well-run event. Congratulations to all participants on a productive and creative weekend. We look forward to seeing what this talented group builds next and to returning for future editions of CodeJam.
